Microsoft 365 and Office apps
Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook are installed from your Microsoft account, not from a standalone download. The installer is tied to the licence on that account.

There is no public Office installer to download without a licence. Microsoft links every Office purchase or Microsoft 365 subscription to a Microsoft account (home products) or a work or school account, and the installer comes from that account's Apps page.
The 64-bit version is installed by default. If Office finds an existing 32-bit Office installation (or a 32-bit Project or Visio), it installs 32-bit instead; switching requires uninstalling the old version first. If your connection is slow or unreliable, Microsoft also offers an offline installer from the same account page.
System requirements
- A Microsoft 365 subscription or an Office licence linked to your account
- Administrator rights on the PC
- For work or school accounts: a licence assigned by your administrator
