The Office Deployment Tool (ODT) is meant for administrators and advanced users. Instead of the normal installer, it reads an XML configuration file that says which products, apps and languages to install, where to get updates from and whether users see the setup screens. It still needs a valid licence: the tool installs Office, it does not license it.
Home users usually do not need it. Install Office from your account instead.

How to install
- Download
officedeploymenttool_20430-20146.exefrom the Microsoft Download Center and run it. It extractssetup.exeand sample configuration files into a folder you choose. - Create a configuration file (for example with Microsoft's Office Customization Tool at config.office.com) and save it as
configuration.xmlnext tosetup.exe. - Download the installation files, then install, from an elevated Command Prompt in that folder:
setup.exe /download configuration.xml setup.exe /configure configuration.xml
Download safely
